Licensing and Service Area

Colorado contractor licensing

Colorado does not issue a single statewide general roofing license. Roofing and residential painting contractors are licensed and registered at the city or county level, with most Front Range jurisdictions requiring proof of insurance, business registration, and a permit on each project.

Pro Shield maintains active contractor registrations and pulls permits in our name (not the homeowner's) in the jurisdictions where we work. Documentation of licensing, general liability insurance, and workers' compensation insurance is provided on request before any project begins.

Service area

Our home market is Lakewood and the western Denver corridor (Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Golden, Edgewater, Morrison). We work regularly across the seven counties of greater Denver:

  • Jefferson County
  • Denver County
  • Adams County
  • Arapahoe County
  • Douglas County
  • Broomfield County
  • Boulder County

We also serve communities along the Front Range corridor (Castle Rock, Parker, Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Englewood, Westminster, Thornton, Northglenn, Brighton, Aurora) and foothill towns (Evergreen, Conifer, Genesee, Indian Hills, Bailey) on a project-by-project basis. Larger Colorado projects outside the metro are reviewed case by case.

Permits

All Pro Shield projects requiring a permit are pulled in Pro Shield's name with the local building department. Mid-roof and final inspections are scheduled by us. Homeowners receive a copy of permit and inspection documentation at project closeout.

Insurance

Pro Shield carries active general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage for all field crews. A current certificate of insurance can be issued directly to the homeowner, the property manager, or the insurance carrier on request.

Subcontracted trades

Specialty trades that fall outside our roofing and painting scope (for example, electrical disconnects for solar arrays, structural carpentry on rare full-decking failures, or HVAC work on rooftop units) are performed by separately licensed local subcontractors.
